Creation is not born,
it is unearthed.
We pull it from within ourselves,
excavating it from the mundaneness of life.
We seek it, run to it
and sometimes
it runs back.
It starts deep within us,
chewing at our triumphs and failures
and begging us to keep feeding it.
We slave for it and peacefully oblige.
We let it consume us
and let it carry us like the wind.

This video was an experiment in creation. After a period of inspirational draught, I pulled myself into creation for creation sake. To escape, feel and remember why we do what we do.
Through this short video, I have tried to utilize and improve my cinematography to create a piece of work that is simply yet beautiful.
I have been heavily inspired my fabric and the way it moves. I have also been inspired by beautiful cinema.
Final Video
The video, which is short and concise, is a true indicator of being able create from nothing. The fabric, which signifies creativity, is a metaphor for the ways in which we tussle and wrangle with creation and eventually break free from the sheet of inspirational draught that hangs over us. Only through breaking free are we able to harness creation. We master it as if it were a sail; guiding us yet with us in full control. We are the captains of the ship. But first we must break free.
Masterful and intentional color grading
The final colour palette was inspired with colour contrast in mind. I wanted to create a look that was not only natural and true to life, but also emphasized by the veil of creation that Leilah wears and how it pops from the background.
8-bit LOG was used to film a window of one and a half hours of sunlight.
